Throughout our lives, many people, institutions, and social or cultural constructs TELL us what we can or cannot express, shame us for expressing our true experience of things, and try to inhibit our voices, literally and figuratively.

This causes us to disconnect from our soul strength and inner wisdom—we learn to keep our voices small, not trust what we think or feel, and even we start “telling ourselves” that we are wrong, or stupid or shameful for feeling, thinking, experiencing things that fall outside “the lines.”
